Who We Are

Isuzu Migori is an authorised Isuzu service centre in Migori, Kenya, run by Smartlake Motors Ltd. References to "we", "our", or "us" throughout this policy refer collectively to Isuzu Migori and Smartlake Motors Ltd as joint data controllers for the purposes of this website.

Our website provides information about our services, parts and prices, and lets you book a service or send us an enquiry. You do not need an account to use it.

Section 02

Information We Collect

We collect the information you choose to give us, plus basic technical data needed to run the website:

• Service bookings: your name, phone number, email address, vehicle, the service you need, and your preferred date and time.
• Enquiries: your name, phone number, email address, the topic you choose (for example parts, fleet or partnership) and your message.
• Calls and messages: what you share with us by phone, WhatsApp or email.
• Newsletter: your name and email address, if you subscribe once our newsletter opens.
• Technical and usage data: your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you visit and the site that referred you. Our hosting provider processes this to deliver the website and protect it from attacks. Our visitor statistics show us totals, not individual visitors.

We do not collect payment card details on this website. Any financial transactions are handled separately and are subject to the policies of the payment provider used.

Section 03

How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect for the following purposes:

• To confirm, schedule and carry out the service you book, and to contact you about your vehicle.
• To answer your enquiries, including parts requests and fleet or partnership enquiries.
• To keep a record of the work we do on your vehicle, including for warranty purposes.
• To send you our newsletter, only if you have subscribed.
• To understand how our website is used and improve it.
• To comply with applicable Kenyan law and regulatory requirements.

Section 04

Newsletters & Marketing Communications

We send marketing emails, such as our monthly newsletter, only to people who have subscribed. Subscribing is always optional and freely given. Sign-ups for the newsletter open soon.

Every newsletter email includes an "Unsubscribe" link, and you can also ask us to remove you at any time using the details in Section 11. We will process your opt-out within 5 business days. Unsubscribing does not affect messages about a booking or enquiry you have made.

Section 05

Data Sharing & Third Parties

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data to third parties for their own marketing purposes.

We may share your information with:

• Service providers: companies that help us run the website, such as web hosting, the system that receives our booking and contact forms, and email delivery. They may use your data only to provide their services to us.
• Isuzu East Africa: where needed for warranty claims or parts orders for your vehicle, we may share limited details with Isuzu East Africa Limited.
• Legal authorities: where required by Kenyan law, court order, or lawful government request.

If you contact us on WhatsApp, WhatsApp's own privacy policy also applies to that conversation. The map on our booking and contact pages is provided by Google Maps, and Google's privacy policy applies to it.

Section 06

Data Retention

We keep booking and enquiry details for as long as we need them to serve you and to keep your vehicle's service history. Invoices and other tax and accounting records are kept for 7 years, in line with Kenyan legal requirements.

Newsletter subscriber data is kept until you unsubscribe. You can ask us to delete your details at any time, subject to these legal retention obligations.

Your Rights

Under Kenyan data protection law and the Data Protection Act, 2019, you have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you.
• Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data.
• Request deletion of your personal data (subject to legal retention obligations).
• Withdraw consent for marketing communications at any time.
• Lodge a complaint with the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner (ODPC) of Kenya.

To exercise any of these rights, please contact us using the details in Section 11 below. We will respond within 21 days.

Section 08

Security

We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data against unauthorised access, loss, or disclosure, including encrypted data transmission (HTTPS) and access controls.

However, no internet transmission is entirely secure. Please do not send sensitive details such as ID numbers or bank details through our forms.

Section 09

Cookies

We do not use advertising or tracking cookies, and our visitor statistics are collected without cookies. Our hosting provider may set a strictly necessary security cookie to protect the website from automated attacks.

The Google Map on our booking and contact pages may set cookies from Google. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and the rest of the website will keep working.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our services or legal requirements. The effective date at the top of this page always shows the latest version, and we will display a notice on the website when we make important changes.
