Caught Just in Time: A Toyota Prado Cooling System Failure Averted

A Prado owner came in for a routine service and mentioned his temperature gauge was "a little higher than usual." What our inspection found was a cracked radiator hose about to give way entirely, one that would have caused catastrophic overheating within days. We replaced the hose set, flushed the coolant, and pressure-tested the system. His engine is fine. The repair cost Ksh 8,500. A new engine would have been a very different conversation.

Isuzu mu-X Transmission Shudder: The Diagnosis That Saved a Gearbox

The customer described it as a "shudder at around 60 km/h that disappears at higher speed." That specific symptom pointed us straight to a torque converter clutch issue, a problem that, if left alone, typically ends in full transmission replacement. We performed a transmission fluid service with the correct Isuzu specification fluid, followed by a converter lock-up calibration. The shudder is completely gone, and the gearbox is healthy.
